Modify your domain index settings

In Cpanel there is an icon labeled as "Index Manager" in the security section, click on this, acknowledge the prompt window and you will get a list of all the directories for your domain/subdomains.

Find the directory which you wish to modify the index settings for and once you have done so, click on the name of the directory (not the folder icon).

This will take you to a page where you are presented with 4 options:

Default System Setting
No Indexes
Standard Indexing (text only)
Fancying Indexing (graphics)

Choose which option you want. If you choose No Indexes then if there is no index in that folder the files won't be displayed.

Once you have done so, click on the button labeled as Save. You will be taken to a new page telling you that the index settings have been updated.
