Sub domain usage in CPanel

*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel*

In your control panel there is an icon labeled as Subdomains. Click on it.

On this page you will see a list of all currently existing subdomain's should there be any. There is a box which has a . domain.com next to it. This is the domain which you will be creating the subdomain for, or, you may create a subdomain on a subdomain. Choose the name for the subdomain and then click on "add", you will be taken to a new page where it will you that your subdomain has been added.

If you wish to setup re-direction for a subdomain then choose which subdomain you wish to re-direct and then click on the "Manage Redirection" button (Just to the right of the sub domain you wish to redirect. Please note that you can not setup a re-direction for the subdomain to a folder with the same name. For example you cannot setup a redirection from yoursubdomain.yourdomain.com to yourdomain.com/yoursubdomain as this is basically the same thing.

On this page you will see a box with http:// in it. Type in the URL where the subdomain will be re-directed to, now, click on the "Save" button, this will take you to a new page telling you that the re-direction has been added.

To remove a re-direction, click on the "Manage redirect's" beside the sub domain you wish to edit, then click "Disable redirection", you will be then taken to a new page telling you that the re-direction has been removed.

To completely delete a subdomain, clic on the "Remove" link to the far right of the page beside the sub domain you wish to delete, you will be taken to a new page telling you that the subdomain has been deleted.
