Customer Services and Complete account management

Preview before domain propagation?

When you receive your welcome email you will be given the IP address of the server that your account is on. If you wish to view your website using your IP address you must also use your account username on the end of the IP address in this format:

192.192.192.192/~username/

If you wish to view your website using your IP address and username in the form of 192.192.192.192/~username/ you may find that a lot of your website images will not show up properly.

This is due to most website images being only relevant to 1 level of folder navigation and not 2 as mentioned above.

Your homepage might have an image on it called ME.GIF and this image is in your websites images folder so the link from your homepage would be /images/ME.GIF

If you were to view your website using either servername or IP address and used the /~username/ on the end, your images would all need to be set to /~username/images/ME.GIF.

So for the sake of waiting a few hours it really is not worth the hassle, plus the time it takes your domain name to propogate is the time we use to check orders for fraud instead of delaying the approval of an account.
